MARIA LOURDES L. AGUSTIN, CESO III
Regional Director, DILG-NCR

At DILG-NCR, we take pride in the diversity of our organization which is the result of years of corporate governance driven by inclusion and a robust GAD program.

Proof of this is the proportion of women in positions of authority within our ranks – a state of being achieved through a hiring and promotion policy blind to gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other irrelevancies.

And yet, much remains to be done to attain the outcomes envisioned in the Magna Carta of Women (R.A. 9710), the Philippine Plan for Gender Responsive Development, and various other United Nations programs to which the Philippines is a signatory. And towards these desirable and aspirational ends, the DILG-NCR intends to lead by example.

The DILG-NCR shall continue to be at the forefront of building capacities through gender-sensitive training, incorporating gender and development when possible in programs and projects, strengthening the internal structures to rectify gender-related issues, and ingraining into the institutional culture the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Going forward, the DILG-NCR shall vigorously network with partners, advocacy groups, institutions, and local governments to advance Gender and Development even further and attain gender equality to the fullest extent possible.
